Q: You should write a book!
A: First, that’s not a question. Second, I’d love to. Just tell me what I should write and then give me some money to write it, and I’d be more than happy to oblige.
Q: Is Sally really smart?
A: I’m her mother, so I think she’s brilliant. But really, I have no idea. She’s not dumb, I think we can agree on that.
Q: Where did you get those purple sunglasses [in the homepage image]?
A: When Sally was 1 I went through a sunglasses phase because they are so darned cute on little kids. This was one of three pairs she owned, and I believe they were from Babies R Us. I’m sure by now scientists have shown that sunglasses will stunt your child’s growth.
Q: Are you guys always funny?
A: Constantly. It’s a riot over here. Especially when I’m totally stressed out and the house is a mess. We’re delightful. …Thank you, though, because I do see the compliment in this question.
Q: Did you ever end up making a Vidia doll?
A: The good people at Disney saved me at the 11th hour and produced one themselves. It is decidedly better crafted than the one I would have made (thanks, China!), and I was happy to pay $14.95 for it.
I am the author’s sister and I will set this all straight: Sally is very intelligent and quite well spoken for her age; My sister is definitely funny, but also has her not so fab moments.
This made me laugh out loud – way to go sis! We can always count on our family to “set the record straight”.
